As many of you know, I was involved for many years in the SharePoint user group and SharePoint Saturday St. Louis. However, I live in Illinois and the meetings are always fairly far away, at the Microsoft Office in Creve Coeur, MO. I was extremely happy to discover that a satellite chapter of the St. Louis .NET User Group meets right in my town of O’Fallon. Not only am I happy about attending a group so close to home, but I’ve really enjoyed learning about topics outside the narrow focus on SharePoint, such as learning about building database projects in Visual Studio, or looking into source control versioning. Often times these topics actually do impact me as a SharePoint developer, but they might not be covered in a typical SharePoint-centric presentation.

That all being said, I’m happy to be presenting at this group on June 17. Naturally, I’ll be talking about SharePoint development. If you’re on this side of town and want to meet some other great developers, come on out! You can register here: http://www.meetup.com/stl-east-dot-net/events/182112782/
